Healthy Living Guide: Long Island
We are continuing our healthy living guide this week with Long Island. Just a short train ride away from Manhattan, Long Islanders have access to all of the healthy restaurants that we mentioned in our previous healthy living guides here and here, but they also don’t have to go far to live a healthy life. Long Islanders have plenty of great restaurants, and farmers markets right in their own backyard!

3 Brothers Pizza
212 North Long Beach Road
If you are a vegan and feeling a little pizza deprived, this pizzeria is a perfect option for you! 3 Brothers Pizza caters to pizza lovers of all types with meat or vegetarian options as well as an extensive vegan pizza menu with meat and cheese substitutes.
Tiger Lily Café
156 East Main Street
If you are looking for a funky, artsy café with lots of vegetarian options, Tiger Lily Café is your place. Stop in for a vegetarian sandwich and some organic coffee or tea, sink into a comfy couch and enjoy the truly original atmosphere. You don’t have to leave your meat-eating friends behind; Tiger Lily has several non-vegetarian sandwich options as well!
300 South Service Road
Looking for a vegan juice packed with nutrients for a quick pick-me-up instead of coffee in the afternoon? Or maybe you want to try a 3 or 5-day juice cleanse. Whatever your juicing needs, Organic Avenue is sure to please. If you can’t make it to their Roslyn Heights location, which is scheduled to open this fall, head to one of their many locations in Manhattan, or have your juices delivered.
41 East Main Street
Tula Kitchen is located on Long Island’s South Shore. It offers a wonderful array of organic meal options ranging from seared sesame crusted tuna to a turkey, feta and roasted tomato burger. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and perfect for a dinner with friends or date night!
80 West Broadway
Atlantica is located on the water in the Allgeria Hotel in Long Beach. The restaurant is famed for its fresh, organic seafood. The restaurant has stunning views of the ocean and the décor is fit for a 5-star beachfront restaurant in Miami Beach. The menu is a bit pricey, so if you are looking for an upscale, organic restaurant in Long Beach, you will love Atlantica.
Estia’s Little Kitchen
1516 Sag Harbor Bridgehampton Turnpike
This small, Mexican-inspired restaurant has a wonderfully cozy feel, just far enough off the beaten path that it feels secluded. The menu features amazing salad, soup, seafood and meat dishes, all made with local ingredients and produce. Estia’s Little Kitchen is an excellent dinner choice if you are in the Amagansett, Sag Harbor area.
Live Island Café
201C E. Main St.
Live Island Café is a raw, live food café that offers a large variety of soups, salads, and appetizers as well as entrees that range from lettuce wraps to shepherds pie. No matter what you’re in the mood for, Live Island Café has a raw food option that is sure to meet all of your needs.
