No matter how you feel about Valentine’s Day, one thing’s for sure: it’s over and isn’t coming back for another year!

But just because the official day of romance has come to pass does not mean that our hearts are closed for business until next February. There are countless ways that love surrounds us wherever we go, and all we have to do is apply a little mindfulness in order to experience it every day.

Here are 5 ways to invite more love into your life…

Express your love.

Whether it’s telling your partner how much you adore them, calling your grandmother just to say hello, or simply vocalizing how much you enjoyed a recent experience, expressing your love spreads that positive feeling to others and lifts their spirits too. This, in turn, makes the people around you more warm, receptive, and generous with their own loving vibes.

Treat your body like a temple.

Treating yourself with love and attentive care is one of the best ways to ensure that you are physically and mentally balanced. When you eat healthy foods, move your body, and make time for sleep, relaxation, and play, you’re much more available to give love to others, and recognize opportunities for more love to enter your life.

Meditate on the word “love”.

Words can have an incredibly powerful effect on our subconscious mind, and the repetition of certain positive words, or mantras, can deeply influence our conscious thoughts and actions. Devote 5 minutes every morning or evening to sitting quietly in a comfortable position, with your eyes closed and your hands on your heart, and simply repeat the word “love” mentally or out loud over and over again. Doing this practice regularly will attract love into your life like a magnet, as long as you’re open to the variety of forms in which love can appear!

Compliment others.

Have you ever noticed that spark of authenticity and joy that someone has after you unexpectedly compliment them? It almost feels better to observe that response in others than to actually receive a compliment yourself! Simply telling someone that they look nice today, or that something they said was inspiring to you, will create an invisible and loving bond between you that lasts for hours or days. Do this often and you’ll not only find yourself walking on cloud nine as a result of making other people happy, you’ll also be increasingly on the receiving end of their loving gifts.

Write yourself love notes.

Get some sticky notes, write positive messages to yourself, and stick them all over your home to continuously elevate your mood and foster a sense of powerful self-love and abundance. Brushing your teeth is so much more uplifting when your bathroom mirror says “you are beautiful”. You can even use smartphone apps to create gorgeous quote graphics and then print or share them with others.
